Blessed Frances Schervier
As a child in Germany, Frances Schervier would sneak into her father’s factory to give food and clothing to the poor workers there. Her childhood ministry became her adult focus; Frances said she “felt a glowing flame of holy love for my neighbor.” With a few friends, she founded the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, dedicated to serving to the poor and suffering. Today, the sisters continue that mission.
